MiP (6337), Flensburg, Germany May 2, 2008 Bottle, 6.5%. Weak, malty bonbon aroma, slightly vinous. Clear dark amber colour. Almost no head. Flavour is OK malty, has some bonbon as well. Lightly caramellized sugar. A bit thin for doppelbock. joss (3249), Garching b. München, Germany Mar 22, 2008 Bottle, thanks pivnizub. Light metallic roast and bitterhop nose. Red brown, low creamy brown head. Dry and light with a bit caramel sweetness in the finish, herbal notes, orangepeel. Fresh and nice actually. Quack-Duck (1978), Bodensee, Germany Mar 13, 2008 Amber colour, medium-size head. Full-bodied, malty and sweet with grassy hops and hints of herbs. Good! MoritzF (4019), Ruhrpott, Germany Feb 24, 2008 (33cl swing top bottle) Clear, amber colour with a mid-sized, non-persistent off-white frothy head. Sweet roast-malty, bready nose with strong notes of caramel and a tinge of Citrousy hops. Sweet flavour, medium to full bodied with a soft and pleasant, well-matured carbonation. Strong toasty and cara-malty bready base; sweet and slightly bitter toast-malty finish with a light but balancing herbal hoppy touch. Mild and likeable Doppelbock (21.02.08). pivnizub (4007), Porúří, Germany Feb 17, 2008 Bügelverschlußflasche (33cl): Deep golden coloured, smaller fluffy tanned head; distinctive bready-fruity (lemony) aroma with sweet-malt and hops in the second row; moderate to solid sweet-bitter flavour, medium bodied; some hidden fruitiness (lemons) in the bisquity-bready (almost a bit almondy or marzipan-like) and bitter finish. Not world-shaking, but all in all a quite well drinkable "slim" Doppelbock.....
