MoritzF (3638), Ruhrpott, Germany May 11, 2008 (swing top bottle) Hazy, amber colour with a huge and persistent light-beige foamy head. Light-sweet and slightly yeasty toast-malty aroma, slightly leafy with caramel, rounded up with spicy herbal hops. Light-bitter flavour, quite slim for an abv of 5.6% but it is never watery, crispy on the tongue. Toasty malty taste with caramel and balanced herbal hoppy flavours; dry, slightly toasted and moderately bitter finish with pleasant herbal and slightly spicy hoppy notes. Not too fat, but well rounded hoppy Dunkel (08.05.08).
pivnizub (3600), Porúří, Germany Jul 18, 2008 Bügelverschlußflasche (purchased at the Brauereigasthof): Slightly hazy, amber - not copper - coloured, extremely stable, rocky beige head; grassy hoppy nose with a barnyardy background and a tinge of roasted malt; solid bitter-sweet flavour, soft F, light to medium bodied; lingering hoppy finish, balanced by sweet caramel and a tinge of yeast. Tastes far better than it smells........ Quack-Duck (1609), Bodensee, Germany Jun 7, 2008 bottle, traded with pivnizub - díky! Hazy amber colour, large and creamy head. Full-bodied, very spicy with flavours of malt and intensive hoppy flavours. Shy hints of caramel and roasetd malt. Quite hoppy for a Dunkel.
