Poured out a copper coloured beer with lots of bubbles, small sized cap but it is creamy and tan and leaves some ropy lacing. Smells way better warmer, nice sweet malts, slightly roasted but dry, touch of hops, decent but off for a bock. Taste: Notable bitterness, soft malts, a spice that belongs in pumpkin pie when colder, I do not like the hops in here at all. Light to medium bodied, a bit tingly, good swish, sweet caramel and acceptable bitterness. Dry finish. At least Berghoff is constant with quality. sethdude (604), St. Louis, Missouri, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Apr 13, 2009 Pours brown with a mdium head and medium lacing. Aroma is sharp, sweet malty notes and too much carbonation in the nose, almost like soda. Flavor is slightly metallic at the start, some cardboard malts give way to grassy hops, and the mouthfeel and flavor are fairly thin. My sample is slightly skunked, so I’ll try this again at a later date to see if maybe this bottle is bad. Quaffable, nonetheless. mcjay (304), Neenah, Wisconsin, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 7, 2009 Mother in Law sent me a Berghoff AND LABEL SAYS Tradional Bock on it, But the descripion is like the beer just drank, might of changed label. Malty caramel nose. Black body with tan fizzy head. Had a rice criapies snap crackle pop thing going on inside the pint glass. Sweet cola carbinated, caamel flavors with a medium bittering. Dry bitter on the palate along with some sweet malt. Good brew. jcr (1190), Jasper, Indiana, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 10, 2009 Bottle. Dark brown body, clear, with a fizzy, tan head that diminishes to nothing. Malty aroma of caramel, toasted grain, nuts. The flavor is moderately sweet and very lightly bitter. It finishes sweet with a slight tartness. Light to medium body with a thin, watery texture. Fizzy carbonation. OK and easy drinking, but a little short on flavor and body for a dunkler bock. esjaygee (1581), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA

Slight bit of nuts in the aroma as well. Flavor contained a hint of caramel. Smooth but a bit light on flavor. Perhaps more malt? Yes, more malt. dmtroyer (415), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Sep 21, 2008 12oz. Pours a dark amber/brown with a tan head that disappears pretty quickly. Some sour cherry on the nose that follows into the body. Loads of sour mash in the body that dominates everything else, some nuttiness but overall somewhat offensive. Flat carbonation and a relatively heavy palate. The beer possesses some potential but is overall mediocre in every category I hate a beer to be mediocre in.
