Somewhat malty in the initial taste but midpalate evolves into a more satisfying yet average bock representation. nutty, with roasted malts and carmelly toasted taste. guyinchicago (528), marengo, Illinois, USA

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 10/20 | Nov 26, 2007 12oz bottle. pours a rich chocolatey brown with orange edges. little to no head forms and quickly disperses. chocolate and graham cracker aroma with a touch of caramel. just a touch of sweet malt and then...not much of anything. fades quickly to decent finish of bittering hops. like most other berghoff beer, mediocre. sneagrams3 (1757), St. Louis, Missouri, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Nov 22, 2007 Tasted 11/22/07. 12oz bottle. Filtered yet with a dark brown hue. Tight ring of off-white head. Cocoa and caramel aromas with a slight undertone of typical lager olive saltiness. Toasty bready with cinnamon spices. Not too bad of a nose. Light to medium bodied with a moderate coffee flavor and acidity mixed with a sweet caramel and toffee flavor. Not a bad beer at all, just a touch thin. This would make a good backyard brew, but its still sub-session. Finishes mildly long with little on the hop side. Decently produced but nothing outstanding. kp (8396), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 22, 2007 Appearance: Pours a clear, brown body with a small, fizzy white head.
Smell: Very, very light aroma of toasty caramel and floral hops. Maybe a little chocolate in there, too.
Taste: Light caramel maltiness with a pinch of cocoa powder and a hint of plum fruitiness. Some mild flowery hops appear before the exceedingly quick finish.
Mouthfeel: Thin-bodied. Medium carbonation. Watery.
Drinkability: A rather misleading title, unless it’s famous for being thin on flavor and expressly watery. CaptainCougar (5488), Rockville, Maryland, USA
