Very nice roasty malt and lightly smoky flavor. Let me get out a cigar and sit out by the fire! Blatz King (150), Whitewater, Wisconsin, USA

Well balanced flavor, smooth. I like Berghoff very much and this is a very good beer. Deserves a better rating than its getting. buckybeer (666), Eau Claire, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 30, 2007 A very dark clean amber that has a medium but quickly fading off white head. Carbonation was big upon the initial pour but settled down after that. Nice looking beer. Aroma is pretty big malts, woody ash, light sour. Flavor is mildly tart malt, hints of cocoa and light smoke and caramel. I am impressed with this one. A nice basic bock. thedm (3836), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 29, 2003 This brew pours a medium head of finely sized mostly lasting very light brown colored bubbles that leave behind a poor lacing and a transparent dark brown colored carbonated bosy. The aroma is a very nice caramel malt one and the mouthfeel is smooth with a slight tingly "Brown" taste to its finish. The flavor is respectable but somewhat thin and needs more of what it already has just stronger. There are notes of caramel, malt, and slight hints of dark chocolate and mollasses. Still, a very nice brew. ElGaucho (1730), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA

Anyway, enjoyed this brew on an unseasonably cool 4th of July evening at a Wisconsin Timber Rattlers Minor League baseball game. Has a faint, roasted malt aroma. Not much head, but pretty good lacing. A combination of medium hops and alcohol give this Bock some bite and enough character to make it interesting. Not a champion in its category by any means, but serviceable. Got Stout? (173), Wisconsin, USA
