Deep amber color with very little head and light carbonation. Smells of toasted malt. Caramelly bready malt flavor with some hop bitterness, but no real distinguishable hop arpma or flavor. Dry finish with a quick disappearing aftertaste. Goes down like water. Tastes more like an amber lager than an APA. Price is right(inexpensive).

not real sure if this is the same as famous amber ale, but the bottle says famous red ale, so that is what I added it as. that being said, nice malty aroma, pours a nice amber color, tastes is predominately of a nice roast malt flavor, slight tinge of a hop or two but no real bitterness worth mentioning. I must say I Like this beer but I always prefer an excess of malt over to many hops

On tap at O’Hare Airport. Pours a standard looking amber color. Head dies out quickly. Subtle malt aroma. Flavor and body are somewhat lacking. Easy to drink, just not very memorable.

Great amber ale. the color is a dark brown goodness. the best amber ale i’ve had in a while. Very drinkable, and highly recommend for all amber ale fans.

Nondistinctive flavor. Nice appearance but I thought flavor could have used some additional hoppy taste. Drinkable but not a beer that I would go out of my way for. Attractive label and packaging.

True-to-name color and thinly headed. Vaguely sugary aroma. Sweet milky aroma and a tad of bitterness.

Clear amber color, small white head that faded quickly leaving little behind. The aroma was malty a little caramel and a slight buttery smell comes through as well. The flavor was decent but nothing special, malty some caramel and a bit of a hop taste and bite at the end. It’s an ok brew but not one i’d like to revisit to often. Thanks go to Falconeye for sending this brew my way.

I don’t know how "Famous" it is, but @ 4.50 a six, its a hell of a buy. This is not a very good APA. Misunderstood what this beer was when I bought it. Not as hoppy as I expect from a quality APA. I've had better beers out of this line but this one was below average in this rater's eyes.
