Sour, and slightly spicy aroma. Flavor is slightly sour upfront with a decent roast malt nuttiness before a vaguely hoppy bitter finish. Feels very carbonated and thin in the mouth. | 0.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 1/10 | 2/5 | 1/10 | 1/5 | 1/20 | Feb 10, 2006 Wow, this is bad. Flattish, with a touch of caramelly malt flavors and aromas, with a touch of that grape candy that is in some of the better doppelbocks, but it doesn’t work very well in this. Light unpleasant bitterness in the finish. Amberish, no effervescence, no head. ebarnes (220), Indianapolis, Indiana, USA

Aroma is pretty non-descript but the flavor is nice and smooth. Very crisp. Not a word I oftern use, but it fits. frankenkitty (1903), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Feb 2, 2006 Served as a clear, copper/whisky color with a very thick film/halo combo that held and laced in a sheet. Lemon and nuts in the aroma with milky notes. A refreshing, flavorful Red with a hint of hops after a mildly malted, nutty center. Smooth and balanced.

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Dec 26, 2005 This bottled brew poured a small sized head of frothy fine to medium sized of unnoted length light brown colored bubbles that left behind a fair lacing. The body contained average carbonation, was transparent and red brown in color. Its aroma contained notes of Irish red like malty hoppy . Its mouth feel is tingly smooth mild with a lingering tingly palate and a red malt aftertaste. Its flavor contained malty hoppy Irish red malt notes. An above average brew. It’s a good early fall beer.I wouldn’t search for it but if i stumbled across it at a local pub, I’d enjoy a few. frisbe60 (14), Spring Green, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 20, 2005 Nice appearance. The aftertaste is slightly acidic with low bitterness. It is easy to drink and for the price, has more to offer than other beers priced higher. A good everyday drinking beer.
