Commercial Description:
This deep mahogany Euro-style lager has a nice balance of malts and hops, which lend to the full-flavored body and mild aroma. It has a pleasantly malt-fruity palate, with touches of chocolate, and some hoppy bitterness coming through at the end. The dark beer was rated as "One of the Top 100 Beers in the World" by Wine Enthusiast magazine, won the Silver Medal in the 1993 Great American Beer Festival and the Silver Medal in the 2002 World Beer Championships.

OK head of medium sized bubbles. Lasts for a little while. Minimal carbonation. Bready, malty aroma. Hint of chocolate and sweetness. Color is a medium mahagony brown. Roasty and bitter flavor with some more sweet malts. Little milk chocolate and a hint of coffee at the finish. A decent brew for what it is worth.

Nice dark amber/brwon color, small off white head that had a short life and faded quickly leaving nothing behind. The aroma was roasty with a decent malty side and some hints of caramel. The flavor was much the same as the aroma but a bit on the thin side in the feel. Not exactly a well done brew but still worth a try, might make a good lawnmower brew.

Pours a dark amber brown. An appealing aroma. I loved the Berghoff restauraunt in Chicago (RIP). A flavorful vienna, chocolately and hoppy. Well crafted beer.

Bottle. Pours out a translucent dark tea-brown colour with a quickly fading off white head. Scent is malty but otherwise boring. Taste is brisk maltiness on the attack followed by very light notes of roasted malt which sustains into the finish. Leaves a slightly bitter fire-place taste on the palate.

Reddish brown appearance, medium size off white head, little lacing. Malty, soft fruit aroma. Flavor was sweet caramel malt with a toasty edge. Smooth, medium bodied, well carbonated mouthfeel leading up to a short lived finish.
