Commercial Description:
This deep mahogany Euro-style lager has a nice balance of malts and hops, which lend to the full-flavored body and mild aroma. It has a pleasantly malt-fruity palate, with touches of chocolate, and some hoppy bitterness coming through at the end. The dark beer was rated as "One of the Top 100 Beers in the World" by Wine Enthusiast magazine, won the Silver Medal in the 1993 Great American Beer Festival and the Silver Medal in the 2002 World Beer Championships.

Nice, enjoyable dark lager. You can taste the dry, bitterness of black malt. Light on the hops but the texture is good anyway. A little shallow in the middle but it finishes well.

Dark mahogony color with a smallish tan head. Carmal malt aroma followed by a slightly sweet malty flavor. Medium bodied. Unimpressive but not offensive.

An ok beer...very average. I have yet to taste a beer of this style that excites me. Aroma was pleasent and more prominant than with any vienna I have tried. Nothing to turn down, but nothing to seek out.

When poured into my glass, the head was very small, tan and it fully and quickly diminished. The body was clear with carbonation and the hue was reddish-brown. The nose was malty and caramel. The flavor consisted of malt, caramel and alcohol. It had a fairly smooth, thin, watery mouthfeel and was light-medium bodied. The lacing was very sparse.

This brew poured a large head of mostly lasting fine to medium sized light browm colored bubbles that left behind a good lacing and a transparent dark brown colored softly carbonated body. It has a medium strength malt aroma and a smooth slightly tingly mouthfeel. Its sweet malt flavor is balanced by a slightl alcohol flavor.

Served in bottle at the Wisconsin Rapids Lions Club Fall Brew Review. Aroma is sweet, molasses, roasted malt. Orangish, brownish, small, off-white head. Very little visible carbonation. Flavor has some bite too it. Roasted malt, some molasses, some hop notes. Not bad.

Dark red/brown in color, with nice head that held up pretty good, and a toasty malt nose. Medium bodied with coffee and butterscotch flavors and a dry finish. Similar to their bock but slightly lighter bodied. Some good beer and reasonably priced too, from a brewer I think is underrated.

Deep, deep red color, thick, foamy head, faint nose of orange. Not as "thick" as I like my darks. Taste is a little different for a dark, not particularly malty, very dry for a dark. Interesting.
