Commercial Description:
This deep mahogany Euro-style lager has a nice balance of malts and hops, which lend to the full-flavored body and mild aroma. It has a pleasantly malt-fruity palate, with touches of chocolate, and some hoppy bitterness coming through at the end. The dark beer was rated as "One of the Top 100 Beers in the World" by Wine Enthusiast magazine, won the Silver Medal in the 1993 Great American Beer Festival and the Silver Medal in the 2002 World Beer Championships.

Pours a light brown color with a small white head.Aromas of roasted malts and a hint of chocolate. Big roasted malt flavor, some grainy malt and a little hop bite. Light body, very drinkable.

Thick head that was pretty slow in fizzing out. No aroma to speak of, lacing is all foam. Mildly dark, let some light through. Flavor is bland and slightly bitter. Taste is nice and smoother, but no defining characteristics. A good party beer, and a good alternative to macros, but not very high on the "craft" scale. I’d drink it again though.

Pours dark bronze with a light tan head. The aroma has thin pale malt that defies the color it has. There is also a bit of corn, light skunk and hints of chocolate malt. Thin crisp body with lots of sharp carbonation. The flavor starts with spices and off-malt. The finish is medicinal, sour (in a bad way) and a muddied malty taste. This was part of a gift sampler pack - I don’t need to try this again.

Pours deep amber brown with a nice thick off white head. Aroma is malty and sweet with alot of pale malt coming through but with a hint of roasted malt. Taste is nice and malty with a hint of roasted malts and a sweet flavor. I like this but I love Viennas. Not a bad brew.

Looks more like a brown ale. No head at all. Not much of an aroma...just a hint of malt. Tatse is more of the same. Just bland and thin. While this thing ins’t good there is nothing offensive either.

Pleasant roasted malt and slight hop aroma ,with hints of chocolate, taste is very satisfying slightly sweet roast taste, again with mild hints of chocolate and some bitterness in finish. Body is light ,carbonation is a little aggressive, but it seems like an ideal session brew. thanks again LT.Judge

Picked up two 12-oz bottles via Berghoff Sampler Pack at Steve’s Liquor & More in Madison, Wisconsin. Pours a dark cola brown brew with a fast dissolving off-white head. Aroma of a caramel malt with some flowery hops toffee, and even a touch of smoke. Taste is medium body, light carbonation, with a caramel and dark fruit character flavor. Finish is smooth, creamy with a light caramel malt aftertaste. Very little bitterness.
