| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 24, 2007 bottle - Pours dark amber with a one finger head. There’s a light malt aroma with maybe a hint of toffee. The flavor is very sweet with caramel malts clearly dominating. Light and very easy to drink, it’s decent enough, but I’m really not noticing much of the hop finish the description mentions. It’s a sweet session beer and not a bad one, but nothing special. redlem (1155), Illinois, USA
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jul 12, 2007 Well dark can be relative depending on what it is compared to and compared to typical US macro this is dark, and in this case it only factors in for color not taste. Once you get past the odd Berghoff sweet malt aroma there might be some roasted malts in this but you have to sniff deep and almost imagine that its there. Taste is sweet and I get no hop profile. | 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jun 2, 2007 On tap at O’Hare Airport. Pours a dark reddish brown color with a slightly off white head that fails to stay afloat for a very long period of time. Aroma has a faint roasted malt essence, but the beer is served way too cold for me to imagine anything else to its credit. At first sip, it seems a bit lactose sweet, but the blandness of the subsequent roasted malt bill and benign hops erased that thought from my mind. As I sit waiting for my plane, I suppose that boredom allows me to think there’s a chocolate flavor and a chalky finish tossed in. mjg74 (2001), La Mesa, California, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | May 30, 2007 Bottle from Whole Foods. The last of the sampler pack. Pours a slightly dark color with no head. Sour aroma with a hint of roasted malt and chocolate. Flavor is roasted and malty with burnt coffee beans. Slightly thin but not bad. shp555 (1776), Atlanta, Georgia, USA

| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Apr 27, 2007 Mediocre at best. Reminds me of those "bitter beer face" commercials when I drink it. It’s got plenty of flavor to it compared to most cheap (I’m talking $6.99 for a 12-pack cheap) beers, but there’s still something wrong about this one. Calling this "dark" is something of an overstatement. Its very transparent, but it’s a brownish/blackish color. There are some hops in the finish, but the flavor is really strange. Fruity and kind of estery, but there is something just wrong about it. Not well balanced I guess. Oh well... a buddy offered me one, I didn’t pay for it... mikeben (344), Naperville, Illinois, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Apr 16, 2007 Nice Brady taste. Smooth like Guiness, very different from other beer I have tried. I would say this has more of the consistenancy of a stout as opposed to the admittedly limeted exposure I have had with the Vienna’s. All in all the creammynmess and unique undertone won me over. buckybeer (666), Eau Claire, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 10, 2007 Pours a dark brown / amber with a small off white head. Aroma is malts, grains and a little corn. Flavor is sweet malts, caramel and a hint of cocoa. I thought it was a pretty solid beer.
