Commercial Description:
This deep mahogany Euro-style lager has a nice balance of malts and hops, which lend to the full-flavored body and mild aroma. It has a pleasantly malt-fruity palate, with touches of chocolate, and some hoppy bitterness coming through at the end. The dark beer was rated as "One of the Top 100 Beers in the World" by Wine Enthusiast magazine, won the Silver Medal in the 1993 Great American Beer Festival and the Silver Medal in the 2002 World Beer Championships.

Nice Brady taste. Smooth like Guiness, very different from other beer I have tried. I would say this has more of the consistenancy of a stout as opposed to the admittedly limeted exposure I have had with the Vienna’s. All in all the creammynmess and unique undertone won me over.

Nice head out of bottle. Dark Ruby red color. some lacing. Great flavor a little sweet if you can imagine that. not bitter at all. Very suprised with this one because I didn't know what to expect. Just noticed bottled and brewed in Wisconsin. That explains it for me. Wisconsin in my mind is still the best place on earth for good beer. Again this pleasant suprise points this out again.

In the bottle. Dark beer that pours thick. A bit watery, but the taste made up for that. One of the only beers that did not have a bitter aftertaste that I’ve had. A great beer.

Man, K2 started a whole trend of guys calling this a ’transition’ beer. Well you folks are a bunch of snobby sheep as far as I’m concerned. This is decent beer, nice toasty malts not mucked up with hops or bad brewing. A good end-of-the-day beer. Cheers to you, Beer Baron, for bucking the trend.

Nice, enjoyable dark lager. You can taste the dry, bitterness of black malt. Light on the hops but the texture is good anyway. A little shallow in the middle but it finishes well.

Dark red/brown in color, with nice head that held up pretty good, and a toasty malt nose. Medium bodied with coffee and butterscotch flavors and a dry finish. Similar to their bock but slightly lighter bodied. Some good beer and reasonably priced too, from a brewer I think is underrated.

A nice red color, but almost headless. This reminds me for some reason of a baltic porter or schwarzbier. Sweet, but with more crisp and bite than other darks. Not complicated, but enjoyable.
