Pours a dark ruby brown with a finger of rapidly dissipating off-white head. Odor of sweet malt. Very watery mouthfeel that goes into a bit of a caramel taste with a slightly bitter aftertaste. A somewhat underwhelming beer, but a passable session beer.

Dec 1, 2008 All Berghoff brews seem to have the same base flavoer. This one is no different only slitly dark.

Nov 26, 2008 Found in the bargain bin at Dominick’s, for $1.98 a six-pack. Poured from the bottle into a pint glass. Pour produced a dark caramel colored body topped by a small, quickly diminishing head of off-white foam. Weak malt aroma, not offensive, not much of anything. Sharp effervescence, with a sweet flavor that diminishes quickly, leaving a slight bittersweet aftertaste. The palate is on the sweet side, favoring the malts, though I couldn’t pick up much else due to the carbonation. I think that this isn’t too bad, and was worth the bargain bin price, though it certainly doesn’t rank highly in my book...

Oct 19, 2008 $5 for a twelve pack...Can’t beat that. Pours a dark amber color with a white head. Aroma is of earthy malts, cola, and faint hops. Taste made me cringe, and not in a good way. Tasted of toasty malts, grass, and hops.

Oct 18, 2008 on tap at Ohara Airport. Not much different from Amber Ale. A little more earthy and certainly darker but similar.

Sep 26, 2008 This is pretty terrible. Murkey dark color, barely any aroma. Slightly toasted taste, though not much there. Yeah, it’s better than most macros, so?
