It is bronze in color and pours a decent white head that dissolves rapidly leaving no lacing. This thin beer introduces itself with the taste of hazelnut. This hazelnut taste remains on the palate long after the fluid has left the mouth. jaymobrown (1360), Chicago, Illinois, USA

I appreciated this beer with its crisp flavors, wheat and malt characteristics and faint hop end. True, the mouthfeel is thin, but I found it to be serving. Nutty warm character all the way through. I tried to get as many glasses as I could before my girlfriend made me leave. frankenkitty (1903), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA
| 1.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 3/20 | Jan 18, 2006 Pours a clear, deep-copper with a small, sudsy head. A burnt-nut aroma covers all else. Flavor is sour, bitter nuts that only succeed in pissing me off.

Smells of hazelnut, of course, and some sweet malts. I see in some of the reviews that nobody can detect any hazelnut in the aroma or flavor, and I don’t think they got the same beer I’m drinking. @ my new year’s party last night, about six people tasted this brew and they all thought it was kinda like hazelnut coffee. Anyways, very nutty in flavor as well, with a little bit of sweetness, clean finish. Hazelnuts definitely dominate this brew. Lubiere (4548), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Dec 25, 2005 Golden lager with white head. Fruity rye malt in aroma. Sweet biscuity malt with light hops and medium bodied. Not bad but dissapointing. Did go well with the pork sandwich, bringing out the biscuitty malt. | 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 1/5 | 7/20 | Dec 17, 2005 Pour is a nice dull brown with a big white head. Aroma is a nice mix of nuts and butter. To bad the flavor is also very buttery and sweet. Hazelnut is in there but not in a good way. Like drinking land-o-lakes. The more I drink this the less i like it. I’m glad I only bought a single. bigdaddy50 (5), green bay, Wisconsin, USA does not count | 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/20 | Dec 16, 2005 Hey, I am partial to Wisconsin Brew being a native of the Badger State. I looked forward to this offering from Berghoff, a brewery that I feel has been under rated. But this beer disappointed. I really struggled to detect any hazelnut flavor. The aroma was non-descript. It’s appearance was of a typical American lager. Average carbonation and an average taste. It was a decent beer, but not a special winter brew as I had expected.
