Pours pale gold with no discernible head and a slightly sour tart aroma with grainy malt backbone. Flavor is tart, citrusy and lacking in any body or rich flavors. Light bodied. This is my second "berghof" with an out of place sourness, maybe some production issues there?

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 11, 2009 Lightly hazed light golden color with a diminished white head. Sourdough wheat bread aromas. Light wheat in the front, followed by a twangy, somewhat metallic taste and feel. Lemon zest and battery acid. I was going to call this a re-label of the hefe-weiss, but this has no resemblance to the one I last reviewed. Has some berliner weisse characteristics that I do not mind, but I’m not sold that they are supposed to be there. I could set with a few of these on a hot summer day and be well quenched. Aroma of wheat, slight banana, and ketchup. Taste of wheat, banana, and a bit of sourness. This light bodied Hefe would not be bad on a hot day but nothing to write home about.
