Taste: sweetness, but mildly so, rich and tasty, though it rings rather thinly on the palate and dries away in the finish like a dud. the flavor continues, but it’s not anything arresting or captivating at all. Textbook definition of "run of the mill."...may be a mitigating factor of the age of the bottle (I review this Oktoberfest bottle in mid-July), but I don’t think so, not entirely...Sweetness starts to cloy a touch, gets thick and syrupy.
Nice little attempt, but strictly minor league.

Slight if any aroma.Very metallic taste dominates the flavor. Finish is a nice bitter flavor, but the metal quinches everything. This was the worst Oktoberfest beer of my trip, but then again, my trip took me to Die Wiesen. DrnkMcDermott (1861), Downers Grove, Illinois, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Oct 4, 2004 Updated: Sep 26, 2005Bottled. Noticed the usual Berghoff lager yeast flavor, which can turn some people off. Actually tasted a hint of smoke, and it still had a decent malt aroma. Clean and toasty otherwise. flemdawg (485), Naples, Florida, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Oct 3, 2004 See through orange/red in color with a fast disappering white head. Sugary malt aroma with other typical Ofest aromas. Malt dominated taste with some bitterness at the end. Not too bad of a beer, and at the price it was hard to pass up, once. presario (3002), Calgary, Alberta, Canada
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 17, 2004 Thic copper with quickly fading head. Sweet light malt aroma. Very clean. Light bitterness increases through the bottle. Light sweet malt beer, almost on to something with this one. Closest maybe to a half water/ half Sam Adams Boston Lager. | 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Sep 13, 2004 Amber with an off-white head. Non-descript aroma and flavor. Served cold might be a Lawnmower Beer but why bother. Propel is cheaper, less calories, and tastes better. Braudog (3773), Dayton, Ohio, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 3, 2004 Reddish amber with little head. Little aroma. It has a bitey caramel sharpness, almost "cheesy" with a tart finish. muzzlehatch (4427), Burlington, Vermont, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 1, 2004 There is actually some real malty "fall classic" flavor in here, by gum. Bit malty/roasty/smoky, nice balance. Many better choices for an Okt of course, but this is fine for the price.
