Commercial Description:
Amber colored, all-malt-lager, which possesses a modest bitterness and clean aroma. Crafted in the traditional Bavarian manner and resembles the Marzen-type Oktoberfest Biers as they are served at the fall festivities in Munich. It won the Gold Medal in the 2002 World Beer Championships.

Heh, not all that bad. Golden brown thin white lacing and head. Awesome cascade with swirling carbonation. Malts with some hops and (barley?) Medium body with a very sweet malty taste but still mild. Fairly one dimentional but an easy drink.

Good color and flavor. Not too over powering. Not as strong as many Marzens.

Nice amber color, thin off white head with 3 clumpy, bubbly masses. Sweet lager nose. Taste is kind of harsh, sweet underneath, but sort of like fallen leaves...harshness takes over and ruins the chance of me finishing this bottle. Dry leaves aftertaste. Yuk!

Lightish, non-offensive. A good cheap session beer. Looks good in the glass.

(Straight out of the bottle at a party with no glassware available) Nuts, I didn't get to pour this into a glass so I can't rate the appearance. I'll give it a middling "3" for now. Otherwise, from a bottle, this beer was pretty decent. No dominate characteristics, just a smooth & malty brew that I found to be quite enjoyable. Nice mouthfeel without excessive carbonation. I'll update this rating when I can actually pour the beer into a glass and examine it a little more carefully.

I really don't think this was very good at all. It was very nice of Jeff to save me some though. Noticed lemon aroma. A bit of sour mash mixed in with the malty blandness. No texture or head to speak of. Almost tasteless.

Speckled orange-tinged rye. Unfiltered. Quick light tan head. Tangy Munich malt aroma with touches of caramel, pumpkin stem, and toasted bread. Lightly musty and leafy with some slick fruit aspects and subtle pale malts. Round, soft mouthfeel. Subdued carbonation. Faintly acidic flavors topped with leathery Munich malts and caramel malt sweetness. Bland, nutty finish with sprinklings of earth, mineral, and toffee. Pretty bland all around, and far too typical.
