Commercial Description:
Amber colored, all-malt-lager, which possesses a modest bitterness and clean aroma. Crafted in the traditional Bavarian manner and resembles the Marzen-type Oktoberfest Biers as they are served at the fall festivities in Munich. It won the Gold Medal in the 2002 World Beer Championships.

amber orange color w/ a full off white head and some nice lacing. Light carmel aroma some light bread. Palate is fairly avg some nice coating. Flavor is easy to drink, a fairly common okt. some nice sweet carmels and light dough w/ hints of bitter in the finish. Not bad.

Thanks Jason! The beer pours to a glowing orange copper body with a nice white head and spotty lacing. The aroma is bready, marzen’y. The flavor isn’t bad. Actually, it’s a decent marzen. Unfortunately, this is a style I don’t generally care for. Bready, light bitter hop, light bubblegum. The palate is medium-light bodied, refreshingly carbonated.

Has a decent, strong malty aroma. Nice amber color with a frothy beige head. Bitter flavor, isn’t too pleasing. Decent body and a little carbonation. Overall, this isn’t too pleasing to me.

Reallly just an ok Oktoberfest. Beautiful looking beer. Copper colored with an orange head that lasts a while. Flavor begins bitter but that fades. Malts are evident but are somewhat subdued.

12 oz bottle. Pours golden copper with almost no head. Taste was quite ale-y and seemed really flat. Don’t know if it was a bad bottle or not. Still not horrible, but I may have to re-visit.

This bottled brew poured a small sized head of foamy fine to medium sized mostly lasting light brown colored bubbles that left behind a good lacing. The body contained average carbonation, was transparent and brown in color. Its aroma contained notes of good caramel malt . Its mouth feel is initially tingly smooth with a lingering slightly tingly palate and a caramel malt aftertaste. Its flavor contained mild caramel malt notes and it could have been better as I was somewhat disappointed by this brew.

Caramel malt aroma with strong fruity esters. Clear, copper coloured body with a low white head that recedes to partial cover. Strong fruity, berry flavour with plenty of caramel malts and some notes of toffee. Bready, biscuity malt note emerges as it warms. Medium body with moderate carbonation that does not last at all well. Sampled at O’Hare airport on the way to GABF 2005.

Pretty good looking and smelling...and I think it tastes pretty good too. More like a nice pale ale than a marzen. Its not very hoppy, but it has a pleasant balance. Finish is a little too malty but still good. I came back to this after a Fantome Pissenlit and Stone Epic 4 and thought it was awful, but I must stay with my original rankings, since this can’t truly compete.
