Commercial Description:
Golden in color, with a moderately full body, Berghoff is a well-rounded beer. The aroma is faintly fruity, with a quick, clean finish, and lightly lingering bitterness. Berghoff Lager is made with Brewer's Two-Row Malt, Carapils Malt, Caramel Malt and domestic hops.

Lagers tend not to be especially interesting. This is no better than most mass market beers; I don’t know anything about Joseph Huber, but this brew is not a craft beer. Mostly uninteresting, but an occasional off-note of skunk livens the experience up a bit.

Berghoff’s are generaly underrated as is this. Smooth taste decent flavor. Lagers aren’t the most exciting style of Beer but good in a pinch. I like it.

5 Ltr Keg-The aroma of a wet dog. Golden in color. A flovor of bitterness. Overall, not the best but not the worst.

12oz bottle acquired in trade with JCapriotti (thanks!). Poured a lighter and see through golden color with an averaged sized white head. I’m straining to get some aroma out of this one - some grain. Tastes of grain and some sweet malts. Not worth spending too much time on this one - I’m on my way to the drain to pour it out...

Reviewed as premium American lager. Nce bright gold color. Apparent high carbonation. Odor is quite faint malt and yeast. Rather sweet corny malt taste. Little hops flavor to provide balance. Simple and not unpleasant. Decent for style.

Aroma is of spicy and slightly floral German hops. Clear but not bright, pale gold color, good head retention, light carbonation. Corn-like flavor – DMS?, balance leans towards the hops, spicy in flavor and bitterness. Clean, rather bland... I’d like to see a little more grainy malt flavor. Mouthfeel is medium-light with low carbonation. Overall, a decent beer, but I think it needs a little more malt character to balance the hops, and a little more carbonation. Comparable to other mediocre American lagers.

Pour is yellow with a white head. Aroma is a nothing. Flavor is almost next to nothing as well. If you want a lager that is close to a BMC lager but w/o drinking a BMC this is for you.

This beer looks like, smells like, feels like and tastes like a pale lager. It is drinkable, but so are about 500 other beers just like it. Maybe this one is slightly drier than others but for the most part change the label and who would know the difference?
