As the owners of the worst beer on the planet, Rhinelander, I'm really impressed with the berghoff brand of beers. This is a much better product than I expected from this company. I like the flavor, the tastes, its a good beer. Retire Rhinelander and you'll move way up the ladder with me. fomentateur (110), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Apr 9, 2004 I arrived at the Berghoff Pub at 8pm, last call had already been called. Luckily I was meeting a friend that had already gotten his beer. The surly bartender took a break from litterally locking up the cooler doors and soda guns to let me know that my choices were limited to Berghoff beers (as if it were a bad thing) because the other beers of choice were already locked up. I was poured a flat hazy golden lager in a frosty mug. Frosty mugs are one of my biggest pet pieves. There was a slight fruity ester in the aroma, not usually typical of lagers. Medium mouthfeel, there is some weight there for a lager. Somewhat clean finish... a little lingering fruitiness, somewhat watery, and a bitterness that seems a little out of balance. I have enjoyed this beer in the past. Its bar far not my favorite, however, I expected much better especially at the Berghoff Bar.

Light to medium bodied, malty and on the sweet side with perhaps some adjunct presence, not much. Well hopped for the style with a nice spicy bitterness in the finish when it is reasonably fresh. hotstuff (3183), Indiana, USA

| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Aug 17, 2003 This brew poured a medium head of fine to medium sized white mostly diminishing bubbles that left very little lacing and a softly carbonated light yellow orange colored body. Its aroma is a mild malt hop one. THe mouthfeel is initially slightly metallic but finishes smoothly. Its flavor is mildly hopped with a very bild bitter aftertaste. jerkadilly74 (155), mooresville, Indiana, USA

Aroma is pretty standard for a lager. Smooth and semi-sweet with a noticeable earthy hop bitterness. Subtle crystal malt presence helps the flavor a little bit toward the crisp bittersweet flavor. celogan (190), Oroville, California, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 19, 2003 Not bad at all. Poured nice golden yellow with head that at least hung around a tiny bit, and left some decent lacing.
Not much hops which it definitely needs. There was a definite presence of malt. I'd drink this again, but probably won't seek it out.
