| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jul 6, 2009 Bottle. Aroma is mettallic, a touch tart and fruity. Faint cold haze to this golden beer with a thin filmy off-white head that leaves no lacing. Sweet with a grainy cereal like body and a slight lingering bitterness. Thin and light bodied. Decent lager.

| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jul 1, 2009 Pours a decent pale yellow with a small white lingering head. Aroma is very sweet malt, sugary, slightly citric and fruity. Flavor starts and ends with a lot of the same sweetness, some metallic notes along with a very mild bitterness towards the finish. Not a whole lot going on there. Medium body and a soft carbonation. Sort of bland, a lot of the same maltiness as the dark beer and the red too Id imagine. Easy drinking though, and a good step up from macro light beers for the price noncaloric (628), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Jun 7, 2009 Gold pour, open white frothy head. Floral, honeyed aroma. Flavor is dry, bready, sharp, somewhat stale. Towards the end, floral and gumball elements come out to give the beer a nice finish, however. Thin to medium body, smooth mouthfeel. sethdude (604), St. Louis, Missouri, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 13, 2009 Pours bright gold. Aroma is skunked, sweet hops barely make it through the skunkiness with a mild hop pepper. Flavor is drier than the nose suggests (good), slightly skunked, with notes of citrus (orange peel), lemongrass, and dandelion in there. Floral hops presence, appropriate for the style. This beer is probably much better fresh, and would make a decent session beer when the whether is hot. Hides it’s relatively high ABV well for a simple style. 6ROW (274), corpus christi, Texas, USA

| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Jan 30, 2009 In my opinion, The Berghoff beers, which used to be a good thing in Chicago years back, have gone way down-hill since the move to Huber-now-Minhas. This bottle of beer, picked up at the Binny’s Beverage Depot in Willowbrook, IL, helps further my case. It pours a clear yellow body with a one-fingered head that quickly reduces to a film. The aroma is sugar sweet, pale malt with some creamed corn and light, grassy hops. The flavor is horrendously sweet, and a tooth rotted and dropped out before I finished the glass. The finish is sweet with a light metallic grass finish. Wondrous. Earlier Rating: 9/20/2004 Total Score: 2.6 I buy this occasionally as my "fridge-lager" because it was once a Chicago original and I remember when it was still brewed locally. I think it was better then. Not a bad golden color with a thin white head and decent carbonation. There’s a slight fruitiness on top of a mild roasted malt aroma. The taste is of a macro lager, perhaps indicating corn and rice have been added. It’s hard to detect hops. Clean finish.
