Had this beer on 9/14/1999. Color is a orange/yellow. Carbonation is low as well as head. Starting with a light body that foes down crisp and easy. Finish is a hoppy wood like taste. Just a bad beer.

Appearance: Pours a yellow body with a thin white head. It’s clear, so very, very clear. Smell: Light, grainy aroma with a bit of corn and some floral hops. Taste: Flavor of grainy sweetness. A bit of corn. Light floral hops balance out faint malt taste. Short, dry finish. Mouthfeel: Thin-bodied. Medium carbonation. Watery. Drinkability: None too enjoyable.

bottle - Pours clear pale yellow with a thin head. It’s fizzy, smells lightly of malt, has the usual too watery body and sweet malt taste. I didn’t taste much, if any, adjunct flavor, which is about hte only thing it had going for it, but what little hops were there were not particularly good. Perhaps it’s better than Bud, but it’s still disappointing.

There is a certain character that one comes to expect from a "classic" old time American lager (i.e. Yuengling, Iron City, Leinenkugel, etc.) and Berghoff is no exception. More flavorful than American macros with apparent hop and malt character, but still not reaching into "true" craft territory. Berghoff lager is a clean, balanced lager, but not exciting. Aroma is a bit lacking as is the weak head retention.

Clear gold color with a small fizzy white head. A honey aroma. Taste is sweet with a metallic aftertaste. A mildly dry finish.

Tap at O’Hare, Chicago. An average yellow body with a crisp rice and herb nose greets the imbiber. Notes of hops and a blend of herbs settle on the tongue. Average mouthfeel leaves no lasting impression on the palate. Not bad; par for the course.

Thin fizzy head. pale color typical of the genre. Caramel flavor with a metallic taste, theres something else I can’t desribe.
