Starting with a light body that foes down crisp and easy. Finish is a hoppy wood like taste. Just a bad beer. ChainGangGuy (2568), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA

| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Aug 21, 2007 bottle - Pours clear pale yellow with a thin head. It’s fizzy, smells lightly of malt, has the usual too watery body and sweet malt taste. I didn’t taste much, if any, adjunct flavor, which is about hte only thing it had going for it, but what little hops were there were not particularly good. Perhaps it’s better than Bud, but it’s still disappointing. freekyp (900), Thomasville, North Carolina, USA
| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Jul 25, 2007 There is a certain character that one comes to expect from a "classic" old time American lager (i.e. Yuengling, Iron City, Leinenkugel, etc.) and Berghoff is no exception. More flavorful than American macros with apparent hop and malt character, but still not reaching into "true" craft territory. Berghoff lager is a clean, balanced lager, but not exciting. Aroma is a bit lacking as is the weak head retention. redlem (1155), Illinois, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jul 10, 2007 Tap at O’Hare, Chicago. An average yellow body with a crisp rice and herb nose greets the imbiber. Notes of hops and a blend of herbs settle on the tongue. Average mouthfeel leaves no lasting impression on the palate. Not bad; par for the course. purduebacchus (39), USA
