Berghoff packaging is a little different for this beer in my area. I like this labelling better makes it look like a quality beer. Very tasty, nice hops good malt and a classic APA flavor. While its not an elite Pale Ale its very nice. At 4.50 a six in KC if the budget gets tight this is a fine thirst quencher. Its probably not going to make anybody’s top 10 but its a good effort and is not a skunky beer. presario (2994), Calgary, Alberta, Canada
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 6, 2004 Head starts nice but big bubbles quickly fade leaving a weird scattered coating. Crisp amber colour. Real hops give this the best aroma of the Berghoffs thus far but too soon it sinks back into the glass. Nice take on the style. Medium bitterness in the finish. Sharp sour hop taste. Not overpowering. Malt backing. A bit of a metallic texture and presence. TheDean (785), MIlwaukee, Wisconsin, USA

For those of you not famuliar, Berghoff makes beers that are good - not bad, not great. Good for picking up a 6er on a nice summer day to enjoy. balke13 (156), MIssoula, Montana, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 2, 2004 pours a medium orange color with a fairly small off white head. sweet malty aroma with certain carmel scents coming through. light body with a hoppy start and sweet malty towards the end...an average pale ale. fatguys (65), Wisconsin, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 30, 2004 Pours a lighter copper. A faint smell of hops, but little else. Medium head. Initial taste of biting hops with a malty palate. Sweet maltiness to finish. A milder pale ale, Sierra Nevada this isn’t, but cheap and very refreshing. A great value. davidoc (113), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 4, 2004 Had it in a bottle. Not much head. The flavor is slightly bitter, but somewhat bland at the same time. Tastes pretty good, though. ElGaucho (1730), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Aug 26, 2003 Sampled at Great Taste of the Midwest. A little yeasty in aroma. Faint hops. No visible carbonation. Fairly large, white head. Excellent lace. Flavor not bad, but expected more from a larger regional brewer. Could pass for a session beer, but perhaps a little high in alcohol content for that. npdempse (931), St. Petersburg, Florida, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Aug 10, 2003 Nose is green, a bit odd, like hoppy sumac. Copper, small white head. Flavor is surprisingly decent--slightly grapefruity Cascade (and other?) hops over a respectable enough malt backbone. Trying to be Sierra Nevada Pale presumably--comes up a bit short, but a good effort.
