Good hoppy aroma. Medium body with slick texture. Moderate flavor with short bitter finish. atpayne (615), Zionsville, Indiana, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Sep 24, 2005 Goldish orange with nice tight creamy white head. Aroma is malty with a sour malt presence, sweetness, and a sense that it is fairly full. Flavor is tangy and sharp, but at the same time a bith thin and unclean. Malt flavor is not very smooth It’s drinkable but could use more character. dwyerpg (2545), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 8, 2005 This is more orange than pale. It reminds me of Sierra Nevada, but not as well done. Hoppy at the start, it fades too quickly to be truly special. delmecum (87), Western Illinois, Illinois, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 21, 2005 Amber yellowish color with small head. Enjoyable beer after mowing the yard. Nice taste close to a American dark lager in malts. Braudog (3770), Dayton, Ohio, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Aug 2, 2005 Yellow-tinted amber wtih a quickly fizzling head. Pleasant, but light, floral hop aroma. Decently balanced with a light fruity hop flavor, moderately bittered. Acidic citric bitter finish without any solid backing. Just OK. BBB63 (4267), La Porte, Indiana, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Aug 1, 2005 Bottle: Golden hue with a small fizzy head and minimal lace. The aroma has notes of grassy and floral hops, pale and bready malts, light note of grapefruit and apple, some veggie esters as well. The taste is rather straight forward, mildly bitter with a good balance of malt character. Some subdued pepper and yeast flavors as well. A very faint finish, some lingering bitterness. The feel is lievly at first but seems to lose a punch as I drink it. A beginner pale ale, accessible and not too complex. My dad liked it and the reason I bought the sample pack. | 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jul 31, 2005 Pours a copper color with little head. Floral hop and malt aroma had me thinking I was in for a delictable treat! Perhaps a new favorite session beer? Not at all. The floral hop aroma did not lead to a hoppy flavorful beer at all. Very thin and water finish. I’ll pass on this in the future. JK (2961), Richfield, Minnesota, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 15/20 | Jul 29, 2005 This is a lighter pale ale. I am not sure why it is designated as an American; it has the floral and fruit elements common to an IPA. The hops are underwhelming, but that makes it accessible to more drinkers. Not bad.
