Ungstrup (11713), Frederiksberg, Denmark Sep 13, 2004 The aroma sour hoppyness. The color is brown and it has a fast disappearing head. The flavor is sweet malty with strong notes of caramel. The body is thin especially taking the 7.5% ABV into account. Papsoe (11076), Frederiksberg, Denmark Dec 29, 2007 (Bottle 33 cl) Courtesy of MoritzF. Clear, dark brown with a warm tint of red and a small, beige head. Aroma of roasted malt and alcohol. Medium body with sweetish, roasted malt and a very biting alcohol feel. Very subdued bitterness. A disappointing and simple brew. I have a sneaking suspicion that this is bottom fermented and hence really a Baltic Porter. 271207 joergen (6821), Frederiksberg, Denmark Aug 8, 2005 Bottled.
Brown coloured with an off white head.
Malty aroma with notes of bread.
Roasted flavour with notes of malts and liquorice.
Tastes more like schwarzbier than porter. MiP (6337), Flensburg, Germany Aug 11, 2006 Bottle. Sweet, dark sugar, peppery aroma. Seemingly clear very dark brown colour. Semi-stable light brown head. Distinct carboard flavour! Not past BB date. Rather peppery flavour too, some sweetness. The alcohol is very present in the aftertaste. Oily mouthfeel. Off? Bov (4744), Bienne, Switzerland Feb 24, 2008 courtesy of Laurent Mousson; labelled Lausitzer Strong Porter -clear dark brown colour, little beige foam; slightly toasted, aroma of caramel and not much more; good malt body, very sweet; late bitterness and quite dry; notes of alcohol and ashes in the finish - simplistic
