The nose is cocoa, roasted malt, faint green olives and bourbon. The taste is chocolate, sour chocolate milk, wood and light bourbon. Medium bodied. The pieces are there but the sourness is distracting. Beershine (2710), Where Climate Suits My Clothes, Vietnam
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 9, 2009 Bottle thanks to Daknole. Black medium body with scant tan head. Aroma has some alcohol, ink, and oddly some citrus. Thin, soft mouthfeel with low carbonation. Inky flavors, not roasty. Very smooth. Not a huge flavor profile but something really nice about it. | 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | May 8, 2009 Dark brown. Thin head. Rich, soy saucey aroma with light fruitiness - a juicy orange component. Juicy, with blackberry, chocolate and coffee. This is complex and delicious. It has the flavour profile of top of the line espresso - one of those Intelligentia single estates. Wood, and light vanilla late. Alchemic. 6ROW (258), corpus christi, Texas, USA

Pours a hazy deep murky brown almost black with a fizzy head that mostly fades. Smooth chocolate aroma with ok roast and slightly old coffee, with a good bourbon barrel character which was surprising- not too hot but definitely stands out. More bourbon flavor- smooth brown sugar, toffee, and caramel good vanilla oak, and nice dark chocolate and roast with a burnt nuttiness which was nice. Smooth finish. This was surprisingly quite good from BBC. kiefdog (1604), Tampa, Florida, USA
