| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 3, 2009 Courtesy of keifdog. Pours dark brown with thin mocha head. The aroma is sweet with notes of malts and molasses that roll up into nearly robust bourbon, vanilla and oak. The taste feels a bit thin with notes of chocolate, and roasty to burnt malts. Then a I get a wave of solid bourbon, vanilla and oak. Beyond midway and into the finish a flash of sour barrel notes is noticed from time to time creating a bit of twang to go along with molasses and chocolate taking this to closure. porterhouse (1162), Alna, Maine, USA

Sugary bourbon aroma along with along with oak/vanilla. Mouthfeel smooth, lightly milk shakey although a touch thin. Very light rings of weepy lacing along with a syrupy film. Flavor is big sweet bourbon with oak and vanilla along with bitter dark chocolate. A touch hot. Pretty decent barrel aged beer and a bit tastier than the regular Berkshire imp stout.
