Bomber with many thanks to RCL, thanks Ray! Fermented in the bottle and unfiltered. Creamy brown gunky stuff on the bottom of this bottle makes for a swirling hypnotizing pour. Cold black coffee smell, decent creamy carbonation. Black coffee taste that is reminiscent of Founders Breakfast. On the label it says ’natural flavors added’ this makes me a bit nervous. Bitter just like black coffee, but with a kick. Certainly comes across as being very fresh! Mild to medium bitter black coffee finish. A true black coffee experience. I really agree with the last ratter who says its like coffee thats been sitting around all day. Heavily roasted, not sweet, dry, smoky, with a touch of cream. Very dry roasted finish. A good porter. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jan 23, 2008 Aroma is a blend of tasty coffee ice cream and not-so-tasty coffee that has been sitting around all day and is now cold. Flavor is mostly dominated by coffee, but is not exceedingly strong itself. Pretty good. mcox90 (640), Wilton, USA

Pours a dark brown with reddish edges & a thick tan head. Nose was of coffee and malts. Mouthfeel was medium & creamy. The creamy part coming later when the beer warmed. At first the beer was overwhelmingly coffee. Hit you over the head like coffee. Almost like having liquified coffee grounds in your mouth. As it warmed the coffee flavors became more subtle and some secondary chocolate and malt flavors were present. Not a bad brew, just a little over the top. I prefer the Draymans Porter. glkaiser (1171), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 24, 2007 Black with medium light brown head. Aroma of roasted coffee and a little roasted malt. Taste is dominated by espresso with notes of chocolate and a bitter hop finish. Very well made coffee porter, with no off-notes or astringent flavors. Everything you want in a drinkable coffee beer. punkeedo (465), San Antonio, Texas, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Dec 13, 2007 One of my lesser favorite BBC brews, this is a stout for the stout-lover. Reminiscent of Sam Smith’s Oatmeal stout in many ways, this brew pours very dark with a dark cream-colored head. You can smell the coffee notes and you can definitely taste them as well. Smoky, chocolatey flavor. Sanchex (223), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Dec 10, 2007 Pours like a nice black coffee with a creamy latte colored head. Aroma is off coffee or course with a hint of smoked nuts. Taste really lingers on the tongue with coffee, smokiness, and milk chocolate. Not too complex but very tasty. Cheers! | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 15, 2007 Pours a deep brown with ruby red notes when held to the light and a medium bubbly/foamy light tan lacing head. Aroma of a nice roasty cup of coffee, nuts, caramel and a touch of chocolate. Flavor of cappucino, coffee with cream and sugar, chocolate notes, some cashews. A nice porter with a great coffee addition. Well done.
