A light, sweet aroma, with a hint of Dean’s (coffee) Beans. There is a nice, unusual mix of flavors - stout, coffee, and brown ale. Spunky and rich, but not jolting. Another fine brew from the brewers of Deerfield. thornecb (1816), Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA

Tan micro head with good retention slowly subsides with little lacing. Sour malt and coffee aromas. Thin with sour malt upfront filling out for a lasting espresso finish. | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 28, 2007 Pours a very dark ruby brown that is almost opaque. Some head falls pretty fast. Nose is faint with roasted coffee. Not overly strong, but fairly present. Flavor is very, very good. Strong robust roasted coffee flavors. Long lasting aftertaste. Feel is thick on the liquid and pretty damn silky. Extremely drinkable. So glad I dragged this back from Boston to Brooklyn. kp (8500), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 29, 2007 THOUGHTS: Gift from a co-worker. Seemed pretty much the sme as their Drayman’s Porter, but a littl more bitter. Well I guess it smelled better but it didn’t taste as good. A little one sided, but when that one side is good, who cares?
TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a very dark brown with red highlights and a large, off-white to light tan head that mostly lasted and left excellent lacing. The aroma was moderate to heavy roasted, mild coffee and some nutty malts. The flavor was sweet with a little bitterness and acidity, that increased in the finish which was of average duration. The flavor was almost entirely coffee with some caramel. The medium body was smewhat syrupy with lightly fizzy carbonation and a chalky, slightly metallic finish. This was also slightly chalky throughout. realale420 (399), west covina, California, USA

The aroma was mainly coffee and chocolate with a touch of roast and oats. Flavor had a smooth coffee taste with a light body and very mild bitterness. A good beer with a light body and mouthfell for a porter. dchmela (1473), Orlando, Florida, USA

Pours out dark brown with big off white head. Big coffee aroma with a hint of chocolate malt. Taste is very well balanced, not very heavy with lots of the coffee coming through in the taste. Finishes off very clean, nothing lingering. Very good porter. drewbeerme (2315), Chicago, Illinois, USA
