Very roasted, sweet and with loads of coffee. Quite heavy porter, in spite of the low ABV. Interesting beer. Probiere (992), Iowa, USA

Massive bitter, overroasted, over-extracted coffee, thick, grainy, chewy, yucky. Couldn’t finish the bottle. Paskal (146), La Prairie, Quebec, Canada

Very smooth and mellow roasted coffe and chocolate with a nice hoppy back bite. Odeed (1673), Bakersfield, California, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 3, 2005 Bottle: Nearly black, dark brown, moderate off-white foamy head, nice lacing.   Huge roasted coffee nose, not much else.   Unbelieveable how strong the coffee is on this one.   Strong coffee on the tongue, very slight lactose sweetness.   Who knows what the underlying beer is, the coffee simply dominates.   Moderate body and mouthfeel.   Semi-sweet coffee w/cream lingers well after the finish.   Aside from Speedway Stout, this is likely a coffee lovers dream.   Sessionable coffee beer for sure.   Thanks Clark!

Deep red-brown body, light/thin off-white head. Big coffee and roasted malt aroma, which carried over into the coffee-dominated body, in addition to notes of baker’s chocolate. Medium-bodied, not too complex. I think I liked the Drayman’s Porter a bit better, with its lighter emphasis on coffee beans, but this sample luckily lacked the DMS problem.
