Bomber. Poured medium-deep brown with a rich cap of tan head. The aroma picked up moderately-roasted, somewhat sour coffee first and foremost, backed by some black patent and blackstrap molasses.. some earth and vanilla notes in there too. The flavor showcased coffee and molasses, with lesser vanilla.. some coffee and metallic sourness on the edges along with a hit of mocha.. finished with cold, roasted coffee. Medium-bodied with enough carbonation to keep it moving across the palate.. the sourness was almost refreshing, but may have been too much to just be coffee-related.. this is something I’d love to try fresh on nitro.

A deep dark porter with a thin moka head. A nice moka head coffee aroma, with butterscotch, very pleasant this time. In mouth, a dark chocolate and coffee grounds, moka, very classy. Medium bodied. On tap at Flat Street Brewpub, Brattleboro, August 2 2009.

Poured from the a bomber into a pint glass. The color is a dark black with a foamy white head that leaves a lacing on the glass. The smell is a big coffee bean aroma. Just like D & D coffee. The taste is bit bitter, with malt, strong again with the good flavored coffee bean taste. It is very silky smooth going down. This beer has a taste that is a bit creamy and a big sugary. It surprised me just how good a porter could be. A good local brew that I will pass on to others.

A Mes rate. Bottle at home thanks to Ang.
Black brown with a really good creamy beige head that is sadly not around for long. Pleasant roasty aroma with plenty of malt. Flavour is really not doing it for me. It tastes like a medicine I used to have as a kid when I was a bit erm... backed up. Strange vegetable note too. Not really getting much coffee out of it either. I’m sure plenty of folks would find this much more enjoyable than I do but it’s just not doing it for me.
