Sampled via 22-oz bomber during Dark Lord Day ’09. Pours an opaque dark brown brew with a creamy tan head that has some retention, thick lacing and glass content appeal. Aroma of roasted dark and black malt, some flowery hops, dark chocolate and a hint of coffee. Taste is where the coffee comes through, medium bodied, very light carbonation with flavors of dark roasted malt, flowery hops, some chocolate and plenty of coffee character. Finish is semi-dry, a tad watery with a dark malt and coffee aftertaste.

This is a decent coffee porter. Nothing really out of the ordinary and nothing bad about it. Lots of coffee and chocolate. Good stuff.

Nitro at Sunset Grill. Poured a clear dark brown color with orange highlights. The head was tan and left a sheet of lace on the glass. Smelled of subdued coffee, milk chocolate, and nuts. Very nutty. Medium to full bodied and fairly sweet with a smooth mouth feel. Tasted of milk chocolate accented by minimal roasted malt and light coffee flavors. Not bad.

Tap at Sunset Grill. Coffee aroma, not particulary strong though. Coffee flavor taste. Nothing special

Tap at Sunset Grille. Aroma of coffee, cocoa powder, not a whole lot. Flavor somewhat milky with coffee and light roastedness. Uninspiring.

Dark brown color with a thin even light tan head. Chalky lactose aroma, chocolate and coffee also. Milder tasting, light roast and coffee, pleasant but not great.

Nice roasty aroma. Taste is a bit of fresh roasted coffee, some chocolate, and some carmel sweetness. The previouslymentiones flavor are wrapped in a fruity, very non-bitter package (probably contributed by the yeast). A decent beer but fairly undistinctive for a coffee beer and a bit thin...very ordinary.

Bottle shared at local BA tasting. Poured dark brown color with an average brown frothy head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate roasted coffee aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium sweet roasted coffee flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. Good coffee porter.
