The color is a dark black with a foamy white head that leaves a lacing on the glass.
The smell is a big coffee bean aroma. Just like D & D coffee.
The taste is bit bitter, with malt, strong again with the good flavored coffee bean taste. It is very silky smooth going down.
This beer has a taste that is a bit creamy and a big sugary. It surprised me just how good a porter could be. A good local brew that I will pass on to others.

Pours a dark and lovely pure black with a fluffy brown head. Notes smack of roasted malts and fresh brewed coffee. Flavor is rife with cofee notes, along with hints of chocolate and a strong malt character. Very smooth and filling. Delicious. Volgon (2490), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA

| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 1, 2005 Pours deep dark brown with a big tan head. Subtle aroma of coffee and milk?. Taste is coffee, roasted notes, slight hops. Very full, creamy mouthfeel. Coffee is present for sure, but not over the top. Well balanced. Awesome and underrated. emerica56 (587), Bristol, Rhode Island, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Oct 11, 2007 This beer pours a dark nut brown color with a thick head with rather large bubbles. It has an intence aroma of burnt coffee beans and toffee. As you drink it there is a nice smooth roasted malt and coffee flavor on the tip of your tounge. The more you drink it there is nice hints of toffee and mild chocolate malt that stays on the back of your palate for quite some time. sar50 (12), , Rhode Island, USA

Aroma is of light coffee with some biscuity malt.
taste is of mild coffee, caramel, toffee, and toast. The coffee is not overpowering or too bitter in flavor which is what I expected. It is extremely smooth with light to medium carbonation that helps the flavors linger on the tongue.
Very impressive beer. I was expecting a heavy bitter kick from the coffee, but it is mellow and blends well with the base porter. Ungstrup (15430), Frederiksberg, Denmark
