| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Nov 1, 2004 22 oz bottle. Deep ruby color with fluffy tan head. Light aroma of yeast and mellow chocolate. Taste has a nice roasty grain flavor. Nice bitterness that comes more from the hops than bitter chocolate. Nice session porter. ClarkVV (3578), Allston, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 9, 2004 2004 draught @ Redbones. Pours a deep chocolate brown with some dark beiges and amber tinges on the sides. Good light mocha colored head and a pretty strong coffee-roast aroma with hazelnuts and light chocolate. Flavor is chocolatey, moderately coffee-like and has a smooth roast that is pleasant and not too bitter or dry. A great balance of not overdrying the porter with no huge sticky sweet malt makes for a very drinkable porter. Body is not ultra thin, for once, with this brewery. Actually a bit of oaty-like chewiness and some chocolate stickiness. Light tinges of hops on the finish, more cocoa and roast. BuckNaked (1204), Tempe, Arizona, USA

| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Aug 24, 2004 Poured very dark brown, but when held to a light it appeared mahogany with a large light tan head and awesome lacing. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, wood dust, and some burnt fruits as well. Lots of chocolate and coffee, some nuts as well in the taste. Nicely sweetened, the chocolate really stands out. Mouthfeel was almost perfect. An awesome porter, I am glad I picked this one up!
