| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Feb 12, 2008 this poured an opaque black color. There is not too much more to say about this beer than what has already been said. Fairly straightforward. A liitle thin, but overall a decent porter. cheapdark (2037), Monacatootha, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 2, 2008 Thank you RCL for such a cool trade! 22 oz bomber pours a big black mug of visual pleasure. Has a thin annulus of chocolate mousse for an inside girdle. Gorgeous chocolate laced roasty olfactory. First bite is acceptable carbonation. Dark chewy roasted flavors. Big, bitter and burned but not over the top like an imperial stout. Croons porter, porter, porter; go ahead and taste me. An interestingly dark brew. Old wet campfire. Lovely example of a fresh dark beer that was properly bottled. Oppressive to the tongue yet enjoyable. 22 oz of this and yer whacked out next to the campfire coals. Borders on Baltic porter flavour. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jan 21, 2008 This is an interesting beer. Good balance between malt and hops, I just don’t love the flavor. A bit of hot chocolate and coffee flavor but nothing too profound. There is the faintest hint of raspberry (or raspberry seeds more accurately) on the finish. cbeers21 (578), Miami, Florida, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 7, 2008 Oily black with thinner head. Coffee smoked, oily and robust flavors and aromas yeild a drying hop finish with a hint of berry sweetness, and a light watery mocha touch. Not too bad punkeedo (465), San Antonio, Texas, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Jan 4, 2008 2007. Bottle. A wonderful porter from BBC. This beer is, of course, acquainted with their characteristic sweetness, which takes the edge off the strong malt-alcohol flavor. Appears dark, dark brown with a caramel head. Very smooth texture, similar to other porters. portermax55 (118), Canterbury, Connecticut, USA

Heavy aromas of roasted malts, chocolate, coffee and a hint of butter. Flavor is of coffee, chocolate and roasted malts with a sweet caramel finish. Mouthfeel is very smooth and soft. Great porter and probably my favorite Berkshire brew. Alldaydrinker (558), Norwood, Massachusetts, USA
