Tap at Northampton Brewing Company. Deep brown beer, creamy light brown head. Sweet nutty aroma, caramel, toasted malt and a nice chocolatey character as well. Flavour is quite sweet and nutty, caramel, munich malt and a touch of butterscotch behind sweet milk chocolate. A light coffeeish bitterness and a light earthy component as well. Soft chocolate wheat malt texture. Nice porter.

On tap at Flat Street in Brattleboro. Nice coffee aroma, roasted, toasted malt. Bit of smoky bitterness. Dark, dark brown clear with mocha light lacing head. Medium body, not too chewy, with medium carbonation. Starts well with chocolate malt, bit of smoky coffee and some burnt woody notes. Malted milk chocolate and coffee. Mild finish with dry but not quite chalky bitterness. Mild coffee and chocolate sweet after and a bit of tangy acidity. Decent porter.

Bottled, thanks jjpm74! Darkbrown, firm head. Roasty coffee aroma. Medium dry with cocoa and butter, rounded mouthfeel. Solidly malty with notes of herbal spices and dried fruits. Salty finish.

(22 oz. bottle from <A HREF=http://www.ratebeer.com/Place/massachusetts/w target=blank>Julio’s Liquors) Decent porter...Pours dark cola brown with about 3 1/2" of light brown head that recedes to an uneven cap of about 1/2". Aroma is milk chocolate and a touch of coffee. Mouthfeel is on the thin side but I believe this is OK for a porter. Flavor is medium-rich milk chocolate and the hint of coffee. Light-medium bitterness through finish as well as some light grassiness. A touch unpolished feeling but fairly tasty.
