Jan 7, 2004 22 oz bommber. Gorgeous bright golden (duh!) color, big snowy head doesn't last. Nose grassy, farmyard-y, really odd in some way I can't get around ... it's distinctive, but not neccesarily good. Flavor ahs that same weird barnyardiness at the front, but a nice thick chewy maltiness comes in and nearly saves the day. Rather dry and thin finish. This is a hard one to rate, I really want to like it and I'm getting much more interested in the style, its got some distinction, but I just cannot say I like it. Maybe I'll try it again at the beginning of its proper season, rather than the end.

Sep 6, 2003 Bottle: There's that signature again. Honey peachy with a little of straw thrown in. Golden color. Lite fruity,lite grainy malt flavor. Very easy going. Small amount of bitterness. Kinda gummy. A little lite overall for my preference. Plus a fruity nose and flavor I normally would't associate with a Kolsch. Still better than any BMC, I guess this is one of those beers brewers make to satisfy the average beer drinker.

Sep 5, 2003 On tap. Looked like bud, but with a nice head. Very weak aroma of light hops and slightly fruity. Flavor was watery, lightly hopped with a slight flavor of sweet fruit (strawbeery like maybe.) Finished slighly sweet and watery. Not real good.

Aug 15, 2003 Updated: Sep 5, 2003Nice light golden color. Somehow I detect a faint banana aroma. This is by no means in the same league as your typical A-S. I'm not sure what Berkshire was trying to do here, but it's really not that bad for a lighter brew. Re-rate: Kudos to the staff at Ratebeer for finally moving this one to Kolsch rather than Blonde Ale!!!!

Jul 6, 2003 Effervescent and cloudy (what's with the cloudy?) Creamy/foamy head. I suppose the flavor would me something to talk about if it would stick around long enough, and if I could find it in the sea of watery bland. Once you swallow, there's nothing to prove that you just had a mothful of beer.

Jun 27, 2003 Has a light golden color with a good bit of carbonation and a light malt/sweet smell. Taste is light, kind of american standardish and finishes a little metallic. Overall not the best BBC beer made, but it is at least drinkable.
