Commercial Description:
Light-bodied ale which features a pale gold color. Its crisp, clean malt flavor makes this a perfect refreshing summer quaff. This German style ale is brewed with imported malt, hops, and an authentic Kolsch yeast strain

2007. Bottle. I’m very surprised by the 18% score on this one. One of my favorite BBC brews. Light, hoppy, and sweet would be the way I would describe this one. It appears light gold with not much head. Very smooth and refreshing. Not overly carbonated, like many other Kolsch brews. Highly recommended as a summer beer.

Poured from a 22oz. bottle into a pint glass. The color was lighter then expected, a light yellow with a slightly foamy white head. The smell was fruity with some citrus fruits such as lemon. A little hint of wheat. The taste was light with a hoppy citrus feel to it. Somewhat floral feel to it as well. The overall feel to this beer was very crisp, very refreshing and was lighter then expected. Good even bodied beer.

Bright but flat golden color. Finger of thin head that melts quickly. Has a nice, promising haze. Looks good. The smell is a cross between a light blond ale and a typical pub ale. Has a mild hint of lemon. Seems to have some pale malts. Again, not bad. The taste is a nice, sweet & fruity first sip; lemons and (blue)berries. Light and refreshing; sweet but with a bready malt base. Well-balanced. A very solid golden ale flavor with pale malts. Like a light juice; a bit of thickness, but smooth enough. Absolutely the perfect consistency for summer. A major summery triumph. Flavor is nice, repeats required.

Great straw and grass aroma with hints of yellow apple and pear skin. Light, vegetal hops flavor. Quite refreshing.

Sold in 22 ounce bottles (is that called a bomber?) with an attractive label. The beer is straw colored with a light head and a mild aroma of sweet malt. It is medium bodied and pleasantly fizzy, with a taste of mellow, good quality hops. I am not rating it as high as I thought I would. The freshness may have been off - the label says keep refrigerated, but I had it in a cupboard for a month. Berkshire Brewing Co. will always be something special for me because it reminds me of relaxing on a porch in the Berkshires, talking with friends and looking out at the trees.

Draught: This one poured a clear, yellow gold color. It had a fair sized white head that left a bit of lacing. The aroma was nice, but a little mild. Notes of malts and grassy hops. It had a very clean taste to it. Some malts and light fruit flavors. Very refreshing.

Growler purchased at a package store. Pours gold with a white dissipating head. Smells of barnyard, morning dew, freshly cut grass and oranges. Tases of lemon, grass and spices with a slightly bitter peppery finish.
