Commercial Description:
A dark rich creamy ale. This is our version of this classic stout style. With its dense black color and velvety texture, our stout's flavor hints of chocolate liquorice and coffee. This ale is truly a meal in a glass.

22 oz bottle form jjpm74. light black color (light? and black? yes, it’s black but not entirely opaque) and thin light tan head. overroasted flavor, but some coffee and cream flavors as well. quite bitter and burnt-flavored; more malt would smooth this beer out and take away some of the "grainy" (not malted grain) feel. still not a bad imperial stout.

22oz bottle acquired in trade with jjpm74 (thanks!). Bottle labeled buy before Nov. Poured a dark, dark brown (almost black) color with an averaged sized tan head. Aromas of chocolate, roast, dark fruits and a little on the earthy side. Tastes of light coffee, prunes, chocolate, and roasted malts. I found this to be weak for an Imperial Stout but overall a good beer.

Thanks to hopdog. Pours an almost black with a smaller tan lacing head. Aroma of carmel, earthy, chocolate, some dark fruits and a general sweetness. Flavor of chocolate, roasted malts and coffee. Not really sure if this is an imperial stout...more like a porter to me.

Poured a hark mahogany color with a small, tan head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malts, and some nuts. Taste of more chocolate and roasted malts, some lactose, and light dried fruits. Creamy mouthfeel.

Jet black liquid with a few millimeters of dense tan creme brule’ looking head. Very sweet aromas with dark brown sugar, sorghum, and corn syrup. Some very mild coffee and roasted malt sneak in, in the background. Fairly sweet with mild alcohol in the background. A sweet thick chilled espresso flavor with a touch of cola. To me this is a strong sweet stout, which somewhat defeats the purpose of a sweet stout - stout that is to be fulfilling and give you energy. Not full and complex enough for a really good Imperial Stout, and too strong for a sweet stout. Just does not fill a spot in the list of beers I would have at any situation. Thanks jjpm74 for the sample.

(yet another bonus brew from oldgrowth)poured a thick black with a nice 1/2 inch head.the aroma was very nice and complex.chocolate, figs, raisins, roasted malts, coffe, and smoke made up the aroma.the flavor was much in the same with a mouthfeel a little on the light side.but i must say this was a really solid impy stout.

Acquired via trade. Rich dark brown color with a thick dark tan head. Thick and sticky lacing. Super sweet malt and molasses aroma, along with some roasted coffee. Full-bodied with semi-sweet chocolate, malt and caramel flavors bordering on cloying - and I like my Imperial Stouts on the sweet side. It does round out pretty quickly though, with coffee and a bit of hops coming through. The finish is long and sweet with dark chocolate and coffee. Pretty enjoyable.
