Berkshire Lost Sailor India Pale Ale

Bomber courtesy of Tweety. Pale citrus aroma and malty sweetener somewhat pale on the nose. Darker shade of orange with thin off white head. Flavor was leaned more to the sweet malt that the citrusy hop and somewhat filling rather than cool and crisp. This is what they call a dinner brew in AZ would of been good with chicken wings or a pizza.

On tap at the Flat Street Brewpub in Brattleboro Vt. Pours a peachy yellow/orange color with a good sized white head that recedes into rings of white lacing. Aroma is citrus hops with hints of malt. Flavor is mostly citrus with a hint of lemon. Hops aren’t particularly strong or sharp. Lacks the crispness of a truely good IPA. That being said, it was an enjoyable brew.

On tap. A citrusy, lightly hopped and grassy beer. Easy to drink refresher. Only the second pint I’d had from BBC, but impressed so far!

On tap at the Sheraton Hotel bar in Springfield, MA. Good beer overall, but surprisingly non-IPA.. more like an "American Strong Ale." More surprising is that it was only 5.5%..

22oz bomber courtesy of naproxen poured into a pint glass. Pours a hazy caramel color in the glass though it’s bright orange when held up to light. There is a bubbly white head that lingers as a ring and leaves decent lacing. The aroma has some grassy hops up front with hints of very light citrus, especially lemons. There is some sweet malts in there as well, but the nose isn’t extremely fragrant. The taste follows the nose with a big bitterness throughout from the citrus hops. The sweet malts are in there to balance it out a little but the juicy citrus bitterness is the main ingredient here. The mouthfeel is medium bodied and sticky with the citrus hop juice. The carbonation is moderate. This is a hop-forward citrusy IPA that’s not too in-your-face so it stays fairly drinkable. There is a bit of abrasiveness to the hops in the finish that keeps it from being super drinkable. Overall, a decent IPA.

bottle poured a medium amber color with good steady carbonation and a thick two finger off white head that held up well. aroma has flowery hops, caramel malt, and goes for some bitterness and citrus. mouth feel is light and has crisp carbonation. flavor has some dull malt, bitterness, grass, and some yeast. a nice mid range ipa that is certainly drinkable.

The taste is caramel malt and light citrus hops. Medium mouth feel. A touch sweet and one dimensional, but I’m happy to try it. Thanks for sending Brian!

22oz bomber. Pours a nice amber color with a thick white head. Good citrus hop aroma, very floral, yet not insane. Nice hop bitterness taste with a citrus twang to it. Tasty IPA.
