Aroma of biscuit, vanilla cream, malt, and some maple syrup and dark fruit. Semi-sweet flavor of malt and soda cracker. Crisp, clean mouthfeel. Soft alcohol and cream on the finishing palate, a little too syrupy and a touch funky, however. Overall, this beer exceeded my expectations, but uughh that finish. Flavor was just too sweet on this one and quite a lot of spiciness. I wasn’t overly fond of this one punkeedo (465), San Antonio, Texas, USA
| 4.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Dec 13, 2007 It’s fairly offensive that this beer has achieved only a 46%. This is by far the best marzen that I’ve ever had. Orangeish-red coloring with a light white head. Retains the standard sweetness that is apparent in most BBC brews, combined with a brisk wheatiness and hints of cinnamon? You really will be surprised by this one. Don’t listen to the other naysaying reviewers. Alldaydrinker (558), Norwood, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 9, 2007 Pours a amber colour with a small white head. Aroma of toasted malts, nuts, and hints of spices. Initial taste is crisp, toasted malts, and mild caramel. finishing with sweet malts. Duration is average. Very drinkable oktoberfest. metsbcd (82), Connecticut, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Oct 18, 2007 Almost no hoppiness, and very light body. There was almost nothing to the beer. It tasted of pumpkin, but not the nice cinnamon as in a pumpkin pie. No, it was more like the insides of a pumpkin. Did not seem like i was drinking a beer at all. Disappointing at best. | 1.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 1/10 | 1/5 | 4/20 | Oct 14, 2007 I had this beer at an Oktoberfest horizontal at a friends house. Malty and nutty aroma. Brown-red in color. Sweet, over-the-top flavor. Finishes sweet to nothing. No noticeable hops at all, cloyingly sweet. Not a pleasant beer. Drink4Satan (586), Bristol, Rhode Island, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Oct 11, 2007 Pours an effervescent, deep orange copper with a dense off-white head with decent retention and some lacing. The aroma has that typically BBC honey scent alnog with some overstated caramel, toffee and mild banana. The falvour is full and chewy, but not subtle enough to be a good oktoberfest. The caramel and toffee are again overstated in the tatse. The finish is slightly drying and has the addition of some bitter-sweet hops. It is medium bodied and slick. emerica56 (585), Bristol, Rhode Island, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 11, 2007 This beer pours a cloudy orange color with a thick head at the top. It has a nice aroma of nutmeg and fall spices. as you drink it there is some initial nutmeg and hints of hops. it is very smooth on the palate but the flavor does not last long on it.
