This is by far the best marzen that I’ve ever had. Orangeish-red coloring with a light white head. Retains the standard sweetness that is apparent in most BBC brews, combined with a brisk wheatiness and hints of cinnamon? You really will be surprised by this one. Don’t listen to the other naysaying reviewers. fbennett (293), Lowell, Massachusetts, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 31, 2006 Pours a dark gold bordering on brown with a thick tan head. The nose is malty, roasted nuts, caramel, brown sugar, with a distinct tartness, and some fresh baked bread essence. The taste is sensational, sweet caramel, upfront with some hoppy bitterness that is semi-balanced leaning more toward a malty front. The alcohal presence is a bit stong but not overpowering. This is a quality Oktoberfest that is very enjoyable and easily one of my favorites in the style.

I have had it everywhere from Eli Cannon’s to bottles and beer fests. There is a slightly more present sweetness to this version than others which I think goes over very well. Oktoberfests can tend to be a little...blah..but the malt and sweet aftertaste of this one works well. Cletus (5057), Connecticut, USA

I think I ended up with a bad bottle last time as this stuff is well above the grain for the style. Pours copper with a nice tan head. Smells of bananas and malty. Taste is thick with a nice malt profile and a tarte finish. Great brew! vwsteggie (684), Paxton, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 5, 2002 This seemed at little dark for an Oktoberfest, but the smell was familiar and malty. I read the reveiw befor I bought it, but I did not taste the sweetness that the other two mentioned. It tasted like your standard Oktoberfest. Overall, it is not the best beer they make... ericnixon (719), Northampton, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 17, 2006 Deep reddish color with some good foaming action in there. Sweeter flavor that was nicely married with a tarty spiciness. Nice stuff. MaiBockAddict (1499), Good Beer Bar Deprived, New Jersey, USA
