| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Jul 26, 2009 Pours a beige, lacing head and an amber-copper body. Smells of raspberry and malt. Flavor is malt, caramel, and raspberry. This brew makes me think of cough syrup and band-aids. thornecb (1816), Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 20, 2009 Fresh clean jammy raspberry aroma, clear mousey brown. Fresh juicy raspberry up front, dense caramel midpalate, leads to a building warming finish is almost too strong and definitely a pointed change from the beginning of the experience. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 27, 2009 Bomber courtesy of Tweety. Good raspberry aroma alonwith some yeasty bread notes. Red body with off white head. Alot of raspberry in the flavor along with a stron bittering. Thicker chewy body texture and what seemed to be some seeds from the raspberries. Filling brew with the fruit lingering on the palate. A creative brew glad I had the chance to try it. porterhouse (1163), Alna, Maine, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 12, 2009 (22 oz. bottle from Kappy’s, labelled as "Raspberry Barley Wine Style Ale") Pours slightly hazy reddish amber with about four fingers of light amberish head. Head slowly recedes to a foamy 1/2" or so and is mostly retained. Aroma is a bit sourish along with a slight bit of vanilla and candyish malt and fairly light raspberry. Mouthfeel is soft and fairly smooth, almost fluffy. Big, weepy rings of lacing. Flavor of some sweetish candy malt and a bit of caramel and vanilla. A bit sourish. Finish is strangely peppery which carries through to the aftertaste. Some fairly subdued raspberry sneaks into the finish but is mostly in the aftertaste. ABV well-hidden. Sort of a strange one, doesn’t really fit any particular style and a bit odd flavor-wise. kevd193213 (519), Hope Valley, Rhode Island, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 21, 2009 Draught. Reddish amber pour with a thin white head. Overpowering aroma of (no kidding) raspberries. Taste of malt, raspberries and alcohol with a sugary sweet finish. I’m not a fan of fruit beers but this was one of the better ones I’ve sampled. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 14, 2009 Bomber - Raspberry Barley Wine Ale - Poured a nice reddish amber in color with a small white head that hung around for a while and provided some lacing on the glass. Aroma is malty sweet and strong of raspberries. Flavor is not as sweet as the hop bitterness balanced it nicely. Raspberries not as prominent in the flavor profile. Little evidence of the alcohol level. slightly bitter/sour in the finish. pnista (1008), Bloomington, Indiana, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 14, 2009 At least 1 year old (labeled barleywine). Pours a warm reddish orangy amber with a thin offwhite head. The nose is full of raspberries. Sweet with a good dose of malt. Akin to a lightweight Fort, as there are no signs of alcohol. A heavier body, but not what I’d expect with a high ABV beer like this. The flavor is a letdown after the nose on this. A blunt raspberry tingest astringent maltiness. The alcohol peeps out. The raspberry almost tastes a bit fake, maybe like Robitussin? I have to guess this would have been a bit better fresh. There’s something sharp in the finish, maybe it’s the acidity of the raspberries. Lingering raspberries and light cream.
