williamherbert (461), Syracuse, New York, USA Nov 8, 2009 Hazy deep orange color. Big puffy head. Minor spotty lace. Thin jetsam of carbonation.
The aroma is an inoffensive but weak ale smell. Ale yeast and malt, slightly pale. Some mild, almost pilsnery bitter hops.
The taste is almost like a lager: Crisp, bitterish light malt. Like a thick all-malt lager. Very nondescript but not bad.
The feel is thick and creamy...and very malty. A good, decent ale. Not a ton of flavor, but easy drinking. Nekronos (2243), Xalapa, Mexico Aug 31, 2009 VEry good, a nice taste of roasted malts but not like an stout or others, just as nutty as other brown good ales. TBone (6675), Pori, Finland Aug 7, 2009 Cask@GBBF.
Dark nut brown color, small white head. Aroma has toffee, nuts, grassy-wwoody hops. Grassy hops, quite nutty, but also some vegetably notes. Lingering alcohol in the aftertaste. oh6gdx (8798), Vasa, Finland Aug 7, 2009 Cask. Amber colour, not too much head. Aroma is wooden, earthy, mild sourish fruity notes as well as some nuttyness. Flavour is caramel, wood, some maplesyrup, mild spices as well as some slight alcoholic sweet notes. JonnyC22 (162), Huntsville, Alabama, USA Jun 25, 2009 I loved it. Very sweet and very "beer-tasting." Excellent choice, as I have been drinking IPAs for a week and have found some of them tough to drink. Guess I’m a newbie. Still a great brew. rocbyter (902), Waterbury, Connecticut, USA May 4, 2009 Sweet and mild candy aroma. Light hazy orange color with a small off white head. Moderate sour beginning that fades in the finish. Svensjair (3), concord, Massachusetts, USA does not count Mar 25, 2009 What can i say other then delicious. To all you beer snobs out there, shame on you! A delicious beer with a great variety of flavors. 22oz bottle, popped open, poured and immediatly enjoyed. Hints of all kinds of flavors, tiny tinge of vanilla , some nutty hints of chocolate, the perfect amount of malt, and some great fresh hops taste in the background as well. Id recommend this excellent brew to anyone! mansquito (819), Boston/Philadelphia, USA Oct 5, 2008 Muddy brown color that signifies this beer as rather unfiltered. Tan head. Caramel and malt aroma and the taste is pretty much the same. The alcohol is covered up pretty well by the hearty malts in this beer. Kind creamy and smooth.
