Dark nut brown color, small white head. Aroma has toffee, nuts, grassy-wwoody hops. Grassy hops, quite nutty, but also some vegetably notes. Lingering alcohol in the aftertaste. hopdog (5630), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Jan 16, 2007 22oz bottle acquired in trade with ppoitras (thanks!). This happens to be my 100th Brown Ale rating. Poured light brown, almost a deeper orange color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of caramel, chocolate and nuts. Tastes of caramel, chocoalte, nuts and had a sugary sweetness as well.. Thinner body. Although this had the typical Brown Ale profile, I found the tastes and aromas didn’t really mesh together well. It was as if they were each fighting each other and and definitely did not blend. Cletus (5060), Connecticut, USA

Taste is on the sweeter and of the malt scale with caramel and brown sugar overwhelming the senses. Slightly nutty finish. ChristianScheffel (4689), Odense, Denmark

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Apr 28, 2003 Massive lasting bubbly/foamy head; nutty/orangy aroma with light herbal hints -- and its downhill from here. Exceedingly sweet; strongly malty, hazelnut-caramel-vanilla in that order, way too sweet overall I think, some alcohol presence, really no hops.
Decent but just too sickly-sweet-syrupy, not malty enough at the end, just ok body.
