Bitter aftertaste. I seem to find it hard to trash any beer but I will say that ther are better amber ales out there. Walt (2289), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Jan 8, 2006 Pour is clear light amber with a nice off white head...smell is a little sweet and nutty at first, with a slight spicy something too...taste is sweet overall...not much of the spice I was looking for...cloying and sticky... | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 6, 2006 Dark bronze in color. Flavor was a well balanced blend of malts and hops with a slight hint of yeast. Listed as an amber ale, but tasted more like an english pale or even a watered down APA to me. Good beer. | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jan 1, 2006 Bottle from Beers of America Historical Collection sampler available at Sam’s Club. Poured a clear deep amber with a fizzy off-white head. Caramel, nutty, and wheat aroma. Light malts, grass, and citrus in the flavor. Light body, cardboard aftertaste. And this is one of the better ones in the sampler. tennisjoel (943), Shakopee, Minnesota, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 30, 2005 Joseph Huber...I had higher expectations. Getting the Beers of America at Sam’s Club, I shoulda known better. This is just thin in taste, kind of like the rest of them. Slightly better than most macros, but that’s about all I can say positive about this one. sammy3D (114), Lawrenceville, Georgia, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Dec 27, 2005 Pours a dark gold with a thin white head. Aroma is reminiscent of an english pale ale with hints of toffee and nutiness. Flavor is the same ... but thin... grainy malts with just a hint of rostiness and tad bitter in the finish. Thin, watered down mouthfeel. Somwhere in there is a decent brew trying to get out. beerbill (1951), Laurel, New York, USA
