May 15, 2008 50 cL bottle. Pours dark yet visible brown with a deep amber glare, huge light tan head. Light mouldy malt aroma. Flavour is vaguely roasted malt with a solid alcohol note. Alcohol finish with a mild metallic note. Somewhat ordinary and without any flavours other than alcohol.

May 2, 2008 Bottle. Red brown colour with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, roasted, caramel, alcohol, fruit. Flavour is the same. Nice bock.

May 1, 2008 Bottle. The pour is clear, dark ruby to brown in color, with an off-white head on top. Malty and sweet flavor with some roasted malt and a little hint of coffee. The coffee is more evident in the flavor, but there’s way more roasted malt and fruityness. Would like it a bit sweeter. Effervescent, full body. A decent and easy to drink dunkler bock, in the same league as Einbecker Ur-bock dunkel. (080314)

Jan 16, 2008 Rating from July 2007, my notes rediscovered. Dark brown, somewhat opaque. Rich caramel, effectively strong. Not so much aroma but good body (somewhat syrupy) and although the flavor is unidimensional and thin, it is still pleasing. Bottle purchased and drank in Berlin.

Dec 15, 2007 Good, strong, stuff. Especially since the bottles are so significantly bigger to what we’re allowed here in Alabama (the veritable wasteland for beer). Somewhat rough / harsh here, but good fuel for walking around the city of Berlin.

May 11, 2007 Courtesy of papsoe. Thank you, Henrik. The only Berliner Kindl beer I have seen in the US is the Berliner Weisse so this is a cool treat. The aroma is a sort of toasted grain, perfume, fruit cake candy and sweet raisins. The body is a dark ruby-brown and holds a diminishing tan head. The fore is syrupy, sweet and possesses a quick alcohol bite. Candied dark fruit and malt throught the middle. Tastes a lot like an Italian candy I have had that itself reminds me fruitcake, replete with nutty notes. Again I find myself in awe of the overall high quality of beer production in Germany.
