Just the right place and the right beer to start a few days visit to Berlin. Clear, light straw coloured body with a tiny white head leaving spotty lace on the glassware. Gentle aroma of pale malt. Pale malty flavour with a grainy touch. Dry citric aftertaste developing into a bittersweet end. Smooth oily palate. Medium bodied. Very refreshing. Prime example of the style (Berlin, 20.11.2009). | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 18, 2009 got this bottle around the corner from my Hotel Artist Riverside, Mitte, Berlin.in outdoor cooler at a kiosk on the street. Poured with a big white foamy fluffy head and lots of lace. Color is a bright clear yellow gold. Aroma was immediately skunky over grain, malt, hops, and a little spice. Flavor left the skunk behind - and turned out pretty good! Real as a matter of fact. Just enough malty sweetness to be alluring with just enough hoppy bitterness to balance and keep it clean and satifying. Big barley grain finish with some hops. Definitely a session. | 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | May 25, 2009 Light yellowy gold with a rather decent, bubbly head leaving fair lacing. Very faint aroma, mostly clean, some grain and a hint of sweetness if you huff and puff enough.
Much more malty and much less hoppy than expected. Clean taste, light but not thin in the mouth and slightly oily. Mostly just malts, even a bit watery at that, but some hay with a note of bitterness at the end.
Not that bad but not really interesting either.
