Bottle 50 cl. [Courtesy of friends Heidi and Peter] Large fizzy white head that mostly lasted. Fair display of lacework. Clear somewhat sparkling body with a pale yellow color. Aroma of grass, caramel, grain, cardboard. Light bodied with an average carbonation and mild dry texture. Light bitter and sweet flavor in balance. Light dry and bitter grassy finish.

400ml draft in Berlin: poured bright yellow with a one finger white head. Light aroma of grassy hops. Flavor was more grassiness and some yeast notes. Light carbonation. Mild bitter finish. Decent on a warm day.

The bottle looks usual, the beer in the glass also. Nothing special. The beer tastes the same. Much too sourish beginning, ends nearly washy. Not a good beer.

Easy to drink and refreshing in the summer, but not too exciting either. A good, but mediocre German beer. Readily available most everywhere in Berlin.

tap - Pours clear gold with a two finger white head. It has a light, hoppy aroma. The flavor is a good balance of pale malt and hops. It’s easy going and while it’s nothing outstanding, it’s a nice, light session brew with a pleasantly bitter finish.

On tap at Klostergarten Neurippen. Clear, golden body with a dense, white head. Grassy, grainy nose with some hops. Could do well with some more hop aroma. The flavor is quite bitter, slightly fruity, and with some grain and grass. Medium to thin body. The finish is long and bitter, with some sweetness blending in. A quite refreshing, and a bit dry pilsner. (070802)

(Ahlbeck, Usedom Island, Germany). I had it a bit warm from tap (?). Nice hoppiness and maltiness, smooth mouthfeel with a bit too little carb for my taste. I’ve had better.
