Cloudy straw color, small head that faded quickly and almost no visible carbonation. Distinct lemon and apple aroma, no tone of hops or malt. Flat palate like a fruit juice. Speaking of fruit juice, that is the taste - lemon juice. Like drinking down a glass of "Real Lemon". I can’t find this enjoyable, maybe with the colored sweetener, but not on its own. The beer’s score will suffer as I compare it to what I’m used to.

Sour aroma, but very weak. Almost no head, and the beer is extremely light coloured. The flavor is extremely sour, and with a bunch of lemon (almost like pure lemon juice with a hint of malts). Not a directly bad flavor, but difinately not my style of beer. Palate is thin and the beer seems harsh and fizzy.

This is one of the most horrible brews I’ve tasted. Nose is like a bowl of dough and soap with a pinch of lemon. Good fizzy carbonation, but taste is very strange. Soapy, tart, doughy.. acid and vinegar with yeast? Can’t really find much good to say about this. Maybe needs another try.

11.1 oz bottle. Clear pale gold with an airy white head. Big streaming bubbles. Nose of sweet-sour milk, dough and mild lemon. Carb is crisp but not sharp. Like a mix of lemon water ice and cream soda. Zwieback finish. Curiously refreshing.

Berliner Kindl Weisse pours a hazy, pale yellow color. It has very fast carbonation bubbles and a fizzy white head that rapidly dissipates. The aroma is pretty good and includes gummi bears (according to my wife, although I do occassionally pick up a wiff of berries or something - raspberry maybe?), golden apples, and a hint of yeasty sourness. The flavor has is slightly dry and acidic. Acutally, this beer tasts a lot like really tart hard cider with hints of vinegar. There is a sweetness that surfaces in the finish along with a taste of fruity apples and some wheat. This beer is very crisp. It is also light and effervescent on the palate. I think this beer is growing on me more and more with each sip. I really like the tart and refreshing qualities of it. I would definitely not pass this beer up in the future and would like to try other beers of this style (if only I could find some in the area!)... 0,33 L bottle (Best Before End 03.07) from IrishBoy. Thanks Richard! Not only was this a tasty beer, but it finally fulfills a rating for the Berliner Weisse style.

Draft. Light yellow, very sour and acidic, but then it’s a berliiner weisse, isn’t it.

Bottle, march 07. Hazy, shinny, yellow color with a medium, white head. Aroma is yeasty, citric, a bit rancid but nice. Flavor is acid, citric with a vinegar touch at the end. Mouthfeel is light, effervescent and salty, mineral. Refreshing. A supremely refreshing summer beer.

Bottle. Pale yellow/straw color, average sized white head, some lacing. Grape, wine-like aroma. Sour, extremely tart up front, almost puckering. A hint of wheat and then distinct barley flavor in the finish that saves the beer from being virtually undrinkable. Thin bodied, not that good.
